Compaq JBL Platinum Series speakers015 I took these speakers off my Compaq monitor, bought a power cord at Radio Shack, inserted the wiring into back of computer - green to green, and powered them up and no sound??? I can hear a clacking noise from the speakers and the on/volume button light is on, but no sound from the speakers. I have a set of Platinum JBL Computer speakers that was purchased for my daughter's compaq computer that has long ago been outdated and recycled. I attempted to use the speakers for my dell laptop and don't get any sound from the speakers when I insert the jack into the earphone jack to the laptop. I also don't have a power adapter cable to the unit that says 12 v DC and 1.0 A in the back of the speaker.

How can i fix this? Will just using a power cable fix the problem?You'll definitely need a power cord for those speakers to work.Most AC converters should work, even if they aren't at 1.0A.
